Tasting Notes:
With only 50 cases produced, this is a Cellar Angels offer that should be snapped up immediately! A beautiful deep ruby in color, this gorgeous wine tastes as good as it looks. Elegance, complexity and exceptional balance embody this delectable blend. The nose is packed full of competing and complementary scents of bright black and blue berries, plum, leather, tobacco, vanilla, berry jam and earthiness with a hint of hearty green herbs popping up at the last moment. This is most certainly a wine to spend time with before indulging in even a single sip- it may just become your new best friend, especially if you spend a bit of time getting to know its intricacies. The palate is finessed by silky, finely grained tannins and superb structure. The mingling flavors of vanilla, mocha, and jammy fruit are tantalizing and make it impossible to have just one glass.

Lamb, sausage, grilled meats, roast pork, BBQ and game meats all pair wonderfully with this wine as do dishes with mushrooms or pungent herbs. Also try sharp Cheddar, Edam or Gouda.
About the Winery
Blanchard Family Wines
Growing up in Peoria, Illinois, James and Mark were as close as any two brothers could be and were often referred to as the Blanchard boys. However, as they grew into adulthood, differences of opinion and ideology drew them apart. James, the elder brother, went into the Air Force and became a military officer and helicopter pilot who served two tours in Iraq. Mark studied poetry and creative writing, focusing on authors who had protested the Vietnam War.
