Angelo Cellars 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve
Angelo Cellars
Region: Napa Valley, CA

While the 2011 vintage was not highly praised by the critics as a whole, there were many fantastic wines produced that year, and this is one of those stellar examples. According to Winemaker Chad Angelo, the 2011 Reverence Vineyard Cabernet is aging quite beautifully and proving to be an amazing wine.
Garnet in color, this single vineyard Cabernet shows off layered aromas of ripe berry fruits – blackberry, dark plum and black cherry – dotted with notes of dried herbs, pepper and subtle vanilla and bakeshop spices. On the palate the Cabernet is lush and enticing, with a rich, full body and palate-coating silky tannins. The acidity is nicely integrated – just enough to keep your palate refreshed and ready for the next sip. I enjoyed this over the holidays with a prime rib roast – perfection!
