CEO, President and Founder
Martin Cody has extensive entrepreneurial experience founding three different companies dealing with retail wine, real estate holdings and land management. Along with his wife Denise, he recently completed the sale of their retail wine shop after six years of ownership. The store grew double digits during the recession and quickly became a local landmark. Martin has extensive national wine industry contacts and he leverages that experience and those relationships to accelerate Cellar Angels’ growth. Martin currently acts as Regional Vice-President of a national software company and is responsible for growing sales in a fifteen state region, staffing and P&L management. Martin has a twenty-four year sales career along with experience working with startup companies. He is active in children’s charitable causes with his wife and has founded Cellar Angels to further those efforts. When not involved in wine or golf related activities you will find him asleep.
COO and Co-Founder
A 20 year career as a Surgical Nurse and Director of Nursing prepared Denise for her first position in the wine industry, a wine shop owner. The skillset of those two roles makes her a perfect fit as Chief Operating Officer for Cellar Angels. Specifically, the company benefits from her strengths including work flow efficiency, meticulous record keeping and empowering leadership skills. Her passion for “the juice”, strong work ethic, and the instinct to do the right thing exemplifies the very DNA of Cellar Angels. Outside of work, Denise enjoys the outdoors, travel and relieves stress by honing her culinary skills.
Investor, Marketing, Sommelier
Carrie fell in love with wine after her first exhilarating sip of Champagne at a wedding many years back. What started as casual tasting and self-education evolved into a true passion for wine and the desire to build a lifestyle around it. Involved with Cellar Angels since inception in 2010, she currently manages the marketing, charity relations and winery partnerships. With The Court of Master Sommeliers Level 1 certification under her belt, Carrie is actively pursuing Level 2. Experienced at event planning, wine buying and wine education, you will also find her leading consumer tasting events or participating in fundraising runs like Susan G. Komen’s Race for the Cure. Triathlon training, photography and planning vacations with her husband are just a few of her favorite things when she is not busy “changing the world one bottle of wine at a time”!
